Review of the film "Midnight in Paris" (2011)
I am ready to accept a stone flying in my direction from someone who says that in childhood we did not want time to throw us into the glorious past. And we dreamed of becoming Musketeers for at least a second, feeling a flying race with the wind under our feet, for example, Rocinante, to get into past eras and do truly heroic deeds. I'm talking, of course, about childhood, when a book was more important to a child than a social network, when we held imaginary swords in our hands, not gaming mice, and it was much easier to get off the couch than it is now. At the same time, the word "romance" meant a state of mind, not a term in a literature textbook!
That's why Woody Allen made that childhood dream come true for me, but never for a moment forgotten! He showed the face of real, but unfortunately dying romantics who are dying from the daily routine, from the development of globalization, from McDonald's, from creative restraint and from the "hand of technological progress." We are witnessing how true romantics are being replaced by deceitful and, as it seems to them, omniscient romantics (in the person of Michael Sheen's character), who have adopted a similar role in order to hang inappropriate compliments on the ears of cute but gullible women, which are also disgusting to an experienced ear, like a vulgar joke! This angers Allen, and he gladly undertakes to dispel this hateful stereotype, choosing for this, perhaps, the most romantic, beautiful, most wonderful and very successful place on Earth for the destruction of various myths - Paris!
A city that lives by its own laws and is able to attract the gaze of even a blind, disappointed person! He gives Owen Wilson's character a chance, mysteriously throwing him into the early twentieth century, not only to see, but also to feel the depth of the souls of those historical figures who, with their immortal works (novels, novellas, essays, paintings), made and make the hearts of millions beat faster! We are confronted by the simple, straightforward Hemingway, the refined and unique Picasso, and the brilliant and often irrationally minded Dali. Naturally, such a story could not do without a magical stranger with a unique French charm, who probably made most of the male audience fall in love with her! All this happens under the cover of a wonderful Parisian night, just forcing you to stay in that perfect world! But in life, nothing happens for nothing, and you will see for yourself by watching this picture.
I remembered every episode of the movie perfectly, so after what I saw, I didn't want to take my eyes off the blank screen for a while longer. A slight tremor ran through my emotions every now and then, and my lip, bitten by trembling moments, slightly cracked! And it took me a long time to fall asleep, because the thoughts that were born in a couple of hours did not leave my head: time is bright and pleasant, and at other times it is kind and overwhelming and melancholic. That's what the film leaves behind, it really should appeal to everyone, especially those who read the right books in childhood, as Vysotsky once said about real romantics.
However, you will also appreciate this film. Although why evaluate it if you need to enjoy it, and the content of this picture should not be put on a ten-point scale. 1xbet is no ordinary bookmaker.
