When Allure Magazine decided to celebrate “The Best Oscar Looks of All Time” it’s no coincidence celebrity hairstylist Enzo Angileri’s iconic creations for Charlize Theron, and Nicole Kidman are featured up front and center. “The preparation is intense; the entrances are unforgettable”, says Allure.
Not one but TWO looks on one page!
Enzo is noted for transforming Charlize Theron into the 1920′s glamazon featured above, the same year she was nominated and won for Best Actress for her role in Monster.
I still remember when Enzo’s second featured actress graced the Oscar Red Carpet in jaw dropping Dior. With the award winning actresses hair in a untamed french twist, and her lips painted mulberry red, Nicole Kidman’s oscar look was and always will be unforgettable.

How to become a makeup artist
“Being a makeup artist is a powerful privilege, we help set the tone for what happens when talent steps in front of the camera.” – Kendra Richards

I am often asked how I became a makeup artist or how someone would go about becoming a makeup artist. The truth is that in my field there is no one set path, it’s not like becoming a surgeon where there is a specific processes to go thru to become a surgeon. People have many different stories behind how they got into the business so each person’s story is their own and unfolds in it’s unique way.
Being a makeup artist is a powerful privilege. Our work is intimate and helps set the tone for what happens when talent leaves our chair to step in front of a camera, onto the red carpet or a stage. Because we can help put someone at ease and increase their confidence it’s important to understand our role and honor it. The person sitting in our chair is trusting us to help them put their best face forward which increases confidence and allows them to focus on their job. One thing that I wish I had experienced much earlier in my career is doing work in front of a camera. Once I began to step in front of the camera myself (for E! Entertainment, PopSugar & Perez Hilton websites and companies like Lancome) I understood the pressures much more and it made me even more sensitive to the people who sit in my makeup chair.
